    My parents purchased a Aerocool Trophy 12" in 2008. The equipment exterior and interior paint coatings has never ever developed rust. The motor, belt and fan turbine are original. In July I felt the pads needed replacement considering they were installed in 2008. The calcium carbonate build-up contributed to a massive weight. Removal was a heavy lift compared to the weight of the replacement pads. The cooler efficiency has dramatically increased. New pads do smell but within the week the smell no longer exists. This unit has always been commissioned (Spring) and decommissioned (Fall) and the bearings have always been oiled. Before installing the new Pad I did clean with CLR to remove hard water deposits in the water reservoir. Bottom-line its so refreshing to order Pads for a dated 2008 Swamp Cooler.
