Description

Retrofit control and digital thermostat kit configured for 115V evaporative cooler applications. For MasterCool Plus and MasterCool Contractor’s Series systems. Uses Dial control reference 7624.

Specifications and Included Parts

  • Control box for mounting outside the cooler.
  • Interior plug/receptacle box with wire leads.
  • 115V motor cord.
  • Indoor digital thermostat.

Operating Features

  • Backlit digital display and separate outdoor controller enclosure.
  • Automatic temperature-based start and stop.
  • Automatic pad pre-wetting and high/low fan-speed adjustment.
  • Listed application range: 2-speed, 1/3–1 HP cooler motors.
  • 2-, 4- or 8-hour timer options.
  • Optional timed dump/purge function using an extra standard cooler pump.
  • UL Listed control.

Compatibility and Installation

Replaces the interior control box and thermostat combination used in listed MasterCool applications, including P225101A, P225102A, P218301A and P218601A.

Additional listed replacement reference: RK301A.

Rewiring between the new receptacle box and the control box is required. This is not a plug-in conversion. Installation difficulty is listed as medium. Disconnect all power and read the complete installation instructions before work begins.

Match the supplied control model, motor and pump load limits, and system voltage before installation.

Contractor’s Series Purge-Pump Option

To retain the purge-pump function with a standard pump, an additional 115V pump receptacle may be needed for the installation. See the pump receptacle option below. An extra pump for the optional dump function is not listed as included.

    Life Saver

    On eBay the original part can range from $259-689. Your price was so reasonable. There is an orange wire hanging and the manual did not explain what it was for. That is my only suggestion for correction. It works fine without it. Thanks for the retrofit solution.

    Fixed my aging MasterCool unit

    Easy to install and allowed me to fix my aging AdobeAir cooler that the electronics went bad on. Otherwise, the cooler is still in decent shape so this saved me from having to replace the whole cooler.

    New controller

    I just mounted it directly to the new cooler since it’s exterior now. My plugs didn’t have an extra drain outlet either but I only need that once a year. Thermostat is a little sensitive with it going between low and high a lot sometimes. Other than that works great. New thermostat is way nicer than old one.

    It’s working great. I purchased the control & thermostat kit last year That this one replaced. The one I purchased last year never worked right. This one works perfectly and was very easy to install. Delivery was very fast.

    Awesome upgrade

    I was able to follow the wiring diagram and called in for one question. I live in Colorado and I called around to see if anyone was familiar with the Adobe Mastercool systems. No luck. I took to the task myself and was able to figure it out. I have basic wiring knowledge. Ensured the breaker was off and went to work. Very nice unit, I think it saved me $3-3.5K by not having to replace the cooler. Thank you!

    Could not find original replacement

    Replaced my original contractor series with this new system, installation was a breeze, chose to use the dump pump option , working great. Would highly recommend this replacement product.

    I guess this is a "one size fits all" fix. my problem was there wasn't adequate room to install the box in the vertical position so I mounted it horizontally on the top of myHPC640E cooler, sealing the perimeter and hoping the cover is actually wate

    Had to call the "Salesman" as I couldn't ascertain the unit was acceptable in the horizontal position-otherwise no hitches.

    So far so good... This unit is working excellently... Hopefully it will last many years.... I would recommend it highly... Contractors should be made aware of its existence...

    110 volt Evap Control Box

    Worked out great. This item is a newer design to my old box, so some rewiring was required. I'm not an electrician, just your average DYI homeowner. With average intelligence and following the wiring diagram, this was a simple job.
