It seems to be working. I just need instructions on how to work the thermostat.

Temp accurate, but hard to read

Posted by Allan Marcus on Jul 13th 2022

I replaced a Dial 7617 that could not maintain accurate temp, even after ensuring it wasn’t in the path of the cool air and it was calibrated. The 7623 is much more complicated to install, but I got there and it’s working well. My only complaint is the poor quality of the LCD. I have a $5 thermometer next to the Dial and the $5 unit is much easier to read. Dial really skimped on the quality of the LCD. If the 7617 works for you, then that is the way to go. If not, the 7623 will work, but at a cost.

The unit works great, I would have given it 5 Stars if it was back lit.

    Versatile Evaporative Cooler Thermostat

Posted by Mark Hoffmeyer on Nov 24th 2020

I just upgraded my evap thermostat from the (2-mode) digital Statmaster to this Dial digital 3-mode thermostat. Installing it was very easy since I was just replacing the other one. The unit is build just as nicely as the Statmaster (both are made by Dial I believe) . The internal electrical connection were good sturdy screw contacts. The instructions manual was adequate. However, this new 3-mode unit performs much better for me than the old one. This unit allows you full manual control of the fan, the pump and more importantly allows the thermostat temp set points to be used during all modes, not just "Automatic mode". At night I always wanted to set the desired indoor temperature with the thermostat but keep the water pump OFF. This way only cool DRY vent air comes in the house. The Stamaster didn't allow this. Now I can set the temp I want and it will stop when the cool night air drops the indoor temperature to the desired setting. Of course th e normal pad water pump, purger pump, fan hi and low, and timed turn on and turn off controls all work normally. I just love the t-stat, and Indoor Comfort Supply has the best price in Phoenix I could find.
